The Great Lakes Bankers Bank was
founded in 1983 and was originally known as the Independent State Bank
of Ohio (ISBO). Its purpose, and its mission statement, is to serve,
preserve, and promote independent community banking.
What is a "Bankers Bank?"
A bankers bank is a commercial
bank that is dedicated to providing correspondent services to
community financial institutions. It is owned exclusively by the
financial institutions with which it does business; however, stock
ownership is not a requirement to taking advantage of its services.
With the exception of bank officers, directors, and employees, bankers
banks do not conduct business with the general public. It is an
organization owned and controlled by community banks with its focus on
providing quality correspondent services.
Advantages of using the
Great Lakes Bankers Bank:
-
We offer many of the same
quality services offered by a traditional correspondent - but do not
directly compete with your customer base for any retail or
commercial customer.
- Our customers are not providing income to
their direct or potential competitor.
- We provide quality correspondent services in
addition to introducing services previously unavailable to community
banks.
-
Correspondent banking is not a
sideline for us - it is our only business! Customers experience a
superior degree of service at all levels of contact and interaction.
-
Since many customers are also
shareholders, we are answerable to them not only as customers but
also as investors. Superior products at competitive prices are the
direct benefit for all of our customers.
We offer a full array of correspondent services and look forward to
working with you. If you would like information on our various
